Abstract
Dr. Barbara E. Forker served as President of the American Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPER), now the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) from 1972 to 1973.
Dr. Forker received an AAHPERD Honor Award in 1971 and the Luther Halsey Gulick Award in 1984.
This project is an oral history of American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance retired leaders: AAHPERD presidents and national award recipients. This interview is with Dr. Barbara Forker on May 16, 1988, in Ames, Iowa. Interviewers are Allys Swanson, Associate Professor of Physical Education, the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minnesota and Sharon Van Oteghen, Professor of Health and Sport Sciences at University of Memphis.
