Project Description
Patricia Dunlop, Associate Professor of Chemistry, received a $600,000 S-STEM grant from the National Science Foundation to build on the foundational grant she and colleagues Yvonne Ng, John Pellegrini and Monica Brown received to encourage more female students to complete degrees and pursue careers in STEM.
The grant provides an additional 65 scholarships for students in biology, chemistry, math, computer science, physics and engineering; allows for development of culturally appropriate recruitment of low income and under-represented populations; and expands social and professional development opportunities and STEM career courses for St. Catherine students. The grant will connect curricular and extracurricular activities, expand the technical curriculum and faculty expertise to assist and encourage students in their pursuit of STEM courses and careers.
