Characterization of Selected Coordination Compounds by Magnetic Susceptibility Coordinates
Name of Award
3M Small Scale Grant
Lori Slavin, Associate Professor of Chemistry, and Erin Michaelson, student researcher, received a $2,000 award from the 3M Small Scale Grant program to characterize twelve inorganic coordination compounds using a magnetic susceptibility balance. They hope to obtain a more complete characterization of the compound including its coordinative environment, number of unpaired electrons of the metal ion and the purity.
