Project Description

Lori Slavin, Associate Professor of Chemistry, and Kelsey Hjelmeland, student researcher, received a $2,000 award from the 3M Small Scale Grant program to characterize twelve inorganic coordination compounds by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy. They hope to obtain a more complete characterization of the compound including its coordinative environment, number of unpaired electrons of the metal ion and the purity.
