Project Description
Dr. Nancy Heitzeg, Professor of Sociology and Co-Director of the Critical Studies of Race/Ethnicity Program, received $11,000 to continue work on Phase II of her project. Activities for Phase II are designed to achieve the following three goals: a new curriculum development for SCU students designed to create awareness and develop professional skills related to working with current/former inmates, familiars, and communities or on related issues of public policy; prison pipeline in their classrooms and communities; the further development of community partnerships in an action research project that involves student-faculty community collaboration addressing prevention, community education, and initiatives.
