Project Description

The objective of this study is to explore the social context and drivers for age-disparate transactional sex relationships in the Mutomo and Ikutha Districts of Kitui South Sub-County of Kitui South, Kenya. This qualitative research study will be conducted with both men and girls in order to learn from both sexes how they perceive and understand sexual violence and transactional sex relationships, in what ways these two phenomena are related, the health outcomes of these sexual relationships as well as exploring the hurdles faced in the completion of primary and secondary school for girls in Kitui South, Kenya.
