Abstract
In order to prepare students for the 21st century workforce, use of technology in education is essential. Incorporating education technology platforms and computer technology by family and consumer sciences (FCS) teachers in postsecondary institutions across the country is vital to generating employable candidates who demonstrate ease in adopting new technology. This paper offers a brief synopsis of technology’s role in post-secondary education, the challenges to adopting technology in education and its benefit to both teachers and students in the field of FCS. Additional examples and suggestions of technology tools are provided in the paper.
