Abstract
Dr. John M. Cooper served as President of the American Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (AAHPER), now the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) from 1969 to 1970. Dr. Cooper received an AAHPERD Honor Award in 1955.
This project is an oral history of American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance retired leaders: AAHPERD presidents and national award recipients. This interview is with Dr. John M. Cooper on April 5, 1988, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the AAHPERD National Convention. Interviewers are Sharon L. Van Oteghen, Professor of Health and Sport Sciences at University of Memphis and Allys Swanson, Associate Professor of Physical Education at the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minnesota.
