Expanding the "Collective" in Collective Efficacy
Name of Award
NExT Teacher Effectiveness Initiative
Associate Professor Suzanne Kaback was awarded $20,000 by the Bush Foundation via a subaward through North Dakota State University (NDSU). The purpose of the pilot project is to improve communication between teacher preparation programs and PK-12 partner schools about the kinds of experiences teacher candidates need in their field of work to augment their coursework. The perceived gap between what is happening in coursework and what is happening in fieldwork is what the pilot project intends to address. Specifically, the St. Kate’s group will convene a focus group of teacher educators and PK-12 partner to develop a set of observational protocols focused on a range of high impact practices.
