Project Description
Nancy Heitzeg, Professor of Sociology, received a $7,000 Faculty Research & Scholarly Activities Grant to create new community work and learning options, off-campus study and internship options for students with community organizations, explore new curriculum development – including the possible development of certificates at all degrees levels - designed to create awareness and develop professional skills for working with current/former inmates, families and communities or issues of public policy, explore the development of community partnerships in an action research project that addresses prevention/community, direct service to inmates, re-entry and public policy.
