Project Description

Dr. Neiwert is a professor in the Department of History and is awarded $5279 to conduct a project International Relations & Classics. This project examines how the Parents’ Union School, a home-school organization popular in Britain between 1892 and 1950, provided a space for women, engaged as teachers, governesses, and mothers to claim their work in these roles as a justification for their citizenship.
