Project Description

Joann Bangs, Associate Professor of Economics, and Robin Lukes, Associate Professor of Liberal Arts and Sciences, were awarded a $7,500 Faculty Research & Scholarly Activities grant to pursue writing an article that addresses the vestiges of patriarchy they believe still exists today in university systems and cultures, resulting in gendered and racialized environments. They will try to bridge the gap between legal and social science scholarship by proposing a new conceptual framework for academia to diminish direct and subtle forms of discrimination.
