Abstract
This is a close reading of the poetic work of the Peruvian poet Rocío Silva Santisteban to explore the presence of the pill in relation to issues of female identity, the relationship with the body and the discomfort that seems to make it impossible for the poetic voice to have an experience free, full and independent. I explore how the female body feels like a weight in this poetic work.
