Abstract
We examined the relationship between work and school and how it relates to the stress level of undergraduate college students. Number of hours worked on average per week, number of hours spent on homework per week and stress level during the past week were examined. In addition, factors that are commonly thought to be related to stress were investigated. Results showed that stress level and number of hours worked per week were positively correlatedut, amount of hours spent on homework was not correlated with stress. Finally, it was discovered that working less than 15 hours per week fosters an ability to meet school deadlines without difficulty. We also discuss the implications of these findings for further research.
