Abstract
Neurosonography is the scanning of the brain in order to evaluate arterial flow. Transcranial Doppler Sonography (TCD) is most commonly used. TCD is used for a variety of patients. The most common patients to receive a TCD are those which have Sickle Cell Disease, previous strokes, and cerebral artery vessel narrowing related to subarachnoid hemorrhages. Neurosonography is a very challenging branch in which the Sonographer must have a steady hand and knowledge of vessels located throughout the brain.
